What I like about my life right now #ZombiePrompts

I looked at the post for this week and was like you have got to be kidding me, our life is a literal shit storm right now but ok i shall play this game oh the irony ha ha...

Ok pity party over lets get serious, despite what has happened I am still incredibly blessed, my kids are all healthy, we have a roof over our heads and always mange to put food on the table, we have an incredible support system by way of family, work family and our very small but precious circle of friend but barring all those amazing blessings what I like most about my life right now is how my feelings and views on motherhood have changed and matured...

This is going to sound odd but even though I always wanted to be a mom more than anything, when I became a mom I knew I was a mom but always still felt like I was standing outside my body as a mother, I love and always have loved my kids and tried to give them all the love and care I possibly can but I think the past year or so has just... I don't know I just feel more at home with the term mom than I ever have and my love and admiration for my kids and the awe and understanding that has developed between us as a complete family... am I making any sense at all, maybe not, in my head it all sounds right.

I suppose that despite us going through a difficult time financially and emotionally as a family we are at our happiest and I love that.

This post theme is a great way to show you what you truly have in your life and I am really happy that in the end I decided to sit down and doing, short and sweet life is amazing despite its challenges.

What are your top 5 pieces of clothing? #ZombiePrompts

This is a fairly easy post to write given that I have only one shelf f clothing and tend to have only a certain amount of items that I love and will wear all the time and get multiple items of the same kind… what can I say I know what I am most comfortable in and that is what I wear and its mostly black which grates my mother to no end in fact if I am wearing colour or have an item of colour in my cupboard chances are my mother either gave it to me or bought it for me.

Any hoo so my top 5 items are….

1.      Black maxi skirt: I absolutely adore maxi skirts and have I think 3 or 4 black ones and one in turquoise (thanks mom) they are comfy, flowing, suite all body types and they go with everything you can dress it down or up… love them!

2.      A prom or evening dress; I may not go out often but I own one because you never know when you will need it and since I hate shopping I would rather just have one so I am not left with an anxiety attack come a really nice evening out or a wedding, mine is black of course, if I am attending a wedding I will add a splash of colour with a bolero or my jewellery items.

3.      Ballet pumps; my absolute favourite shoes EVER, they are comfortable and cheap and they come in an array of colours and designs, what’s not to love!

4.      Plain fitted tee’s: love having these and actually own a few different colours, they are extremely comfortable and suite all body types.

5.      Comfy PJ’s and lingerie: I have put these as one because its nightwear but I firmly believe that everyone should own a nice pair of comfortable pj’s because who wants to be uncomfortable when they sleep right? Preferably cotton or any breathable light fabric especially in our climate and then also lingerie. I absolutely adore corsets and lingerie I have a full drawer, I may not have an amazing body but they make me feel like a goddess and I feel every woman should have at least one set!

What DIY projects are on your spring to-do list?

Its week no 2 in the 52 week blogging challenge that I saw over on Mama Zombie Mumbles and this week’s topic is something I have actually had in the pipeline for quite a while but have not been financially able to achieve, however I hope that by this coming spring we should have everything in place and will be able to do it in the way I want to.

My DIY project for this year is to create a veggie garden.

52 week blogging challenge

I have been a lazy blogger these holidays plus I've been trying to be more present with my kids so I haven't been online or blogged much at all, but with the new year started I want to get back into the swing of things and I came upon a 52 week challenge on the Mama Zombie page that I thought would help me with this.

So the topic for this week:

What do you want your great-great-great-grandkids to know about you?

I have been thinking about this topic all afternoon and its really not as easy as it seems at least not for me... hmmm

I guess I would want them to know that I am the kind of woman who follows my heart at times to a fault that I love walking in the rain and can get lost in books for days, I'm a little bit of a weirdo I love Horror movies and true crime stories, I have very few friends by choice but the ones that I do have are ones that I have for life.

I don't have a thirst for travel or to do extraordinary feats my happiness lies in being at home surrounded by my family, and lastly that I have lived with no regrets rather with the knowledge that every step I have taken has brought me to where I am today with the people I love most therefore every step no matter how painful or seemingly insignificant was a step in the right direction and one I am ever grateful for.
