Oh So Heavenly- skin Care Range

So I have been trying to put this post together for a month already now but every time I start I seem to amble off onto something else which is a royal pain considering how much I love this range guys.

I have mentioned my skin issues many times over my time as a blogger and for the most part since having my hysterectomy my skin has done a complete turnaround to the point where for the first time in many a year I am happy with my skin.

Then 3 months back I started to notice a change in my skin and my hair actually but let’s focus on skin for now, my skin has always been dry bar my t zone but of late it has gone full throttle and the dryness has increased and I have also started getting breakouts in my chin area.

I have been incredibly lazy with skin care over the past year so I decided it was time to climb back on the horse and find a regime I love, I popped in at Dischem and perused their skin care isle for a good 40  minutes and I left begrudgingly with a face wash that I wasn’t all too happy about, seriously the entire isle was a mass of tested on animals, paraben laden products even the one range which claimed to be all natural wasn’t and they no longer stock the Essence skin care range I used to use so I had to make do, but after 2 weeks I could not use the product any longer it only worsened the issues I was experiencing and my skin was dry and painful.

Then whilst browsing in Clicks a few days later the Oh So Heavenly skin care range caught my eye, I did not know that they had a skin care range and I knew that it was a range I had to try.

I picked up a gel wash, spa mask/wash and moisturiser and it was a 3 for 2 special so I believe I paid less than 200 for all 3 products, I have been using it for 2 months now and I could not be happier, my skin feels more hydrated, my skin is smoother and the breakouts have all but dissipated apart from being sick now the last few days which has brought out one or 2 spots but I have found that the moisturiser is amazing for use on what is now an incredibly sensitive nasal area thanks to my flu whereas before I found any product used at this time would have burned and hurt terribly.

I use the mask twice a week and the wash every day as well as the moisturisor, the mask doubles up as an scrub (exfoliant) as well which I find works incredibly well for my skin.

I highly recommend that you try this range whatever your skin type, the product is cruelty free and inexpensive as far as skin care goes.  The range I tried is the Beautifully Balanced range which to me seemed to be the most all rounded product range they had on offer, I am dying to try the day and night cream and will pop in to purchase those in the coming month.

Thank you Oh So Heavenly your products never fail to amaze me.

Finding a purpose

Growing up I always wanted to be a mom in fact I would go so far as to say that even as a young girl I believed my purpose in life was to grow up get married and raise children, yes I wanted to be a fashion designer as well but for me being a mother was my ultimate wish and goal.

So I grew up and at the tender age of 19 I gave birth to the light of my life, well one of three; my Loghan, unmarried and unemployed but hey I was a mom I had fulfilled my purpose right? I had ambled through childhood and by the grace of the gods my teens, I never felt like I fit in anywhere or that I could do anything right, becoming a mom was going to be it for me, my purpose fulfilled it was going to be something that I rocked at.

The Fidget n' Flip Toy Reveiw

So we as parents all know how a craze can come into our lives at a feverish pace, in our days it was Pokémon slammers and Tamagotchi’s today’s; generation have had everything from loom bands to checkers minis.

So I’m pretty sure almost all parents have come into contact with, had to purchase or have at least heard of fidget toys, fidget cubes or fidget spinners, personally we have both in our household and I for one am constantly fidgeting even as an adult I am constantly tapping my foot or clicking a pen and I think that spinners and cubes are great when used appropriately i.e. they are not actually meant to be toys but anti-anxiety and focus aids.

Up until recently I was unaware of the vast array of fidget toys and resources available and so I was incredibly excited when I was contacted by the lovely Nicky Sacharowitz to review the latest fidget tool, the Fidget n' Flip.

The gender box

I'm sure most of us grew up with gender stereo types in some or other from, girls wear pink and boys blue, girls should be soft and feminine and play with dolls whilst boys could be loud and boisterous and needed to play with trucks and cars.

I know I was raised with that mentality even though in later years my brother often wore pink by choice and rocked it and allows my future sister in laws nieces to play dollies etc with him, the ground work of those gender assumptions was always there, it was socially frowned upon for a boy to role play with dolls unless of course he played the working father.

Weighing the scales of love

I have always questioned the concept of what is termed middle child syndrome, people talk about it all the time some scoff and some agree, for the most part I always perceived it to be a bunch of bologna, I came from a family with 2 children and I could never quite understand even though I will be honest I always felt like my brother had it easier than I did, as the eldest there always seemed to be a precedence that did not pertain in the same manner to my brother.

This past weekend not once not twice not even three times but at least 5 times Gabriel remarked to me how I was unfair and that his brothers always get everything and he gets nothing, one of the instances included me asking them to have a good day on Friday and saying to each of them who had been nagging all week that I would give them R5 each to get something from the tuck shop for said good day, Loghan had a fantastic day but Gabriel didn’t so Loghan received his money and Gabriel didn’t, I was being fair and true to my word right?

Life lately

Hello again everyone on this rather chilly Monday.

First off I’m just happy as heck to have this colder weather although it does mean that everyone is falling ill, including Jesse who taken up permanent residence in our bed over the past few days, the weather starts off freezing in the morning and then by lunch you are dying from the heat and by the evening you are freezing again so it’s no surprise that everyone is ill.

Anyhoo so how has life been otherwise?  Well it has been a bit crazy, I did something I never thought in my wildest dreams I would ever do and I signed up for the boys school governing body, I have to be honest I never in my wildest dreams comprehended just how much work is involved in the running of an independent school and I take my hat off to the principle of the boys school who up until now has done everything on her own which I think is simply amazing!
