I am not a lip product fan as much as I love the look of a vivid red lip or the idea of a lip product that can moisturize and care for your lips I cannot for the life of me stand the feeling of a lip product on my lips and have always found them incredibly drying so I usually just skip that beauty section all together.
So I am not exactly sure what it is that drew me to purchase this product but I did and I decided to give you a quick review.
This is what the Essence website has to say about this product:
"kiss and care in the city! the gentle texture of the lipbalm is
moisturizing and pampering thanks to its premium castor oil ingredients.
the highlight: these lipbalms have a refreshing fruity taste and ensure
a natural look with their subtle color-dispersion."
I purchased the peach one on the far right.
What I liked about the product:
- Essence is cruelty free so that was a big plus
- The colour is very soft very much on the nude side and I thought it would be nice to add just a subtle bit of colour to my lips which it did and I liked that not sure I would go for the purple or bright pink but the two softer shades are lovely.
- It smells wonderful
- The product goes on soft and smooth and I can feel a difference after wearing it
- The price it costs R24 which is cheap if you consider that it is a subtle lip tint as well as a balm
What I didn't like about the product
- The taste is oily which is due to Castor oil in the product however this is me nitpicking it would not prevent me from buying the product.
- The packaging is a bit cheap and would probably break very easily if I left it in my poor tossed about handbag.
- even though it is definitely moisturizing it feels drying to me which makes me want to lick my lips ick I know but its how it feels
Would I buy this product again?
I think that I would because it does work and I'm not entirely sure its not my past experiences that is making me paranoid about the product drying out my lips so I will carry on using it and may or probably will repurchase it
