Also known as my throw everything you have left in the
cupboard together spaghetti =)
I will say that every time I make this it is different as I
base it on what I have left in my cupboard but it is always a winner and this
weekend’s was amazing so I decided to share it with you.
When I say this is filling I am not kidding and the beans
and veg make it go a lot further, you can of course skip the mince and go
vegetarian without it but my kids asked for a mince dish.
Ingredients
500g spaghetti
500gm mince
Olive oil
1 onion (diced)
Diced baby carrots, peas or corn (a great way to incorporate
veg so your fussy kiddos will eats it)
1 can baked beans
1 can of diced tomatoes (you can leave the onion and do a
can of onion/tomato mix as well)
Chutney
Soy sauce
Mixed herbs
1 tbsp. garlic (we love garlic)
Method
Toss your spaghetti into some water with a dash of oil (this
stops your pasta from sticking to the pan and itself)
Toss the mince, garlic, olive oil and onion in your frying
pan, once cooked through add your diced veggies, baked beans and diced tomatoes,
add your sauces (as desired) and spices and allow to cook through for 10
minutes.
You can either mix the spaghetti and bolognaise before
serving or serve the bolognaise on top which is what I usually do, you can
really play around with this recipe and add or take away as desired but I find
meals like this really handy, my mom always says you make do with what you have
in the cupboard and I have become really innovative with meals because of this.
I wish I had taken a pic for this blog but unfortunately my kiddos were too hungry to wait.
What is your favourite end of the month meal?
