Transgender bathroom use

Whilst in my first year of college there was woman in our class who has stayed on my mind for many years since, she was tall with beautiful hair and gorgeous eyes she looked like a model and was a wonderful delight to be around, oh and she was transgender (born male and transitioning to female).

Honestly unless you really looked or knew you would never have known, many guys from the other departments would remark how beautiful she was; because well she was and I say she and her because she identified and lived her life as a female so I really don’t care what she had downstairs to me she was a woman and what was she doing other than living her life!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the issue of bathrooms and transgender men and woman and it really makes me sad that people still feel the need to treat them any differently than they would their friends and family, they are mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, sisters and brothers we are all human beings who have just as much right to live life comfortable in own skin as the next person, gay strait, male or female, why does it matter which bathrooms they use, as a female we have closed stalls and the woman I went to college with used the ladies loo, why the heck not? In the men’s bathrooms there are also usually a number of closed stalls as well which you are more than welcome to make use of if you feel the need =)

If for instance a transitioning male decides to use the male loo and make use of the urinals what is the issue other than the fact you may feel intimidated by a female who has bigger balls than you do lol. I really cannot understand what the issue is, just imagine you are born a girl and your whole life you feel something is not right you don’t identify as a girl you don’t feel you are a girl but everyone treats you as a girl because as far as anatomy is concerned that is what you are, maybe you try to voice your feelings and are shut down or made to feel wrong or stupid for feeling that way you go on with life but always feel like something is missing like you are living a lie, maybe you even decide that a life that is a lie is not worth living, I cannot speak personally for this specific circumstance but I can only imagine that this is along the lines of how it feels, imagine still if your child identifies as the opposite sex would you force them to live a life of self-loathing and confusion or pain.

I know plenty of men who have played dress up as children or go to parties dressed up as females but see a transgender person who actually identifies and knows that they are in the wrong body and its wrong peoples logic is just I don’t know, in my opinion whatever you believe it is usually a trait of most religions to be told you are unique and everyone is made with love and beauty and yet this is not the way people are treated or choose to treat others (not everyone), it is sad and I’m sure it is part of why the world has become such an angry hurtful place combined with violence; judgement and ignorance is the root of all pain and suffering.
