Over the last few years I have had many an issue with the
services provided by Pick n Pay or lack thereof should I say, I have complained
about it many times to managers and on social media but for the most part it
always falls on deaf ears to the point where I no longer go to pick n pay
unless I have to, even my mum stopped shopping at Pick n Pay.
So when I saw the franchise in the news again yesterday I
cannot say I was surprised, however I was severely taken aback and disgusted
once I had actually read the article.
In short a mum was out shopping with her baby and young
child and forgot that she had put coffee in under the pram and thus when she
left the store after PAYING for all her other groceries she was arrested in the
presence of her children.
Seriously what were they thinking, people make mistakes for
crying in a bucket she clearly didn’t plan to intentionally forget I am sure
most moms have had this happen or their child has picked something up and you
realise outside the store that it wasn’t paid for, it made me sick to my
stomach to think of how scared and confused those kids must have been and how
the mom must have felt to have gone through this; humiliated and scared!!!!
To that manager whoever you are you disgust me and I hope
that you face serious repercussions for this incident you sir are the reason
many a mom will now no longer be shopping at one of the many stores your
franchise has on offer, as far as I am concerned that mother should be heavily
compensated and you should not only be forced to apologize publicly but should
also lose your job… my shop then when I have to has now become won’t be going there
again I would rather spend the extra or drive out the extra petrol to go
elsewhere.
I was in PnP Umhlanga Chartwell Centre 2 weeks ago and subject to a short change scam run by the cashier and her packer. Who counts their change? Many of us pay only by cards. I usually do but, for once the total was around R130 and so I paid cash.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cleve little gig they've got going - while the cashier chatted away (and I'm equally friendly and chatty) she placed the coins in my hand and proceeded to cash up the next customer. Per chance and just by luck my eye caught the amount reflected as change due to me less the bronze coins. In my case it was less 40c. Nothing at all but in a day or a week it adds up. And the brazen way the packer (not the cashier) also blushed, and then quickly handed over the missing money from her own stash confirmed they were both runny a tidy little off balance sheet scam.
I reported it immediately to the manager and here's the rub: from his response it was obvious he was familiar with this complaint, it wasn't something new. I left my full name, telephone number and email address, together with my till slip and a comment about the last thing PnP that that branch needs to get is a reputation for short hanging customers. He promised to investigate and get back to me.
It's two weeks later and I've not heard another thing. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. Well I won't be leaving it. And, after I've accosted him in the store and reminded him how he dropped the ball, I'll be off to the newspapers and social media to warn other potential customers to check their change. Or stay away.
Yeah also heard about this really crazy i mean clearly it was a mistake, hope the manager gets fired seriously dont need people like him running a family store
ReplyDeleteSo sick and tired of this story.. Seriously have you people nothing better to do? As the manager of the store I am sure they hear those kind of stories every single day by shop lifters. Just because you have a baby and a kid with you, does that justify "mommy brain"?? Get your facts straight before you post on your silly blog.
ReplyDeleteDid the same thing at the same pick n pay and nobody gave me a hard time. There may be more at play. I reckon we should reserve judgement for the courts.
